Tomahawk Dirt Bathing

Description

Original painting of my beautiful longtail rooster, Tomahawk, enjoying a nice dust bath in my poor clover patch. Chickens love the communal activity of dust bathing: rolling around the dirt, flapping it into their feathers, and getting it as deep and thick as possible to smother mites. They always have a look of serene contentment while bathing, and enforcing the pecking order is often overlooked during a dust bath.
Acrylic and colored pencil on 18x24" birch panel. Comes varnished and ready to hang, no need to frame!
